Singer-songwriters' copyright might be protected for 95 years

Brussels, 17/07/2008 (Agence Europe) - On Wednesday 16 July 2008, the European Commission adopted a draft directive to increase from 50 to 95 years the copyright term for singer-songwriters and composers (see Europe 9602). This will not be retroactive and will therefore only apply to recordings broadcast after the new directive is adopted.
