Call for more flexible interpretation of mechanisms on state aid in fisheries sector

Brussels, 01/07/2008 (Agence Europe) - The Political Bureau of the Conference of Peripheral Maritime Regions (CPMR) meeting in Rhodes (Greece) on 27 June expressed its concern at the current situation of the European fishing sector. It said it was sure that “the need to restore trust between partners is a prerequisite to ensuring a future for the sector, which, more than ever, needs support in undergoing the necessary changes”.
