Yves-Thibault de Silguy calls for use of the euro in the world to be promoted

Brussels, 25/06/2008 (Agence Europe) - At a conference organised by the 'Institut français des Relations internationales' (IFRI) in Brussels on Tuesday 24 June 2008, former European Commissioner Yves Thibault de Silguy pointed out that the euro had been designed in 1995 to 'save the single market' that was running the risk of imploding as a result of competitive devaluation.
