09/06/2008 (Agence Europe) -The first conference on the implementation of the European Qualifications Framework (EQF), which was recently adopted by the European Parliament and the Council of Ministers in the form of a recommendation, was held in Brussels on 3 and 4 June. It brought together some 230 people representing national authorities, the social partners, businesses in the sectors in question and other stakeholders, who had gathered to discuss the details for the concretisation of this new instrument designed to improve mobility. It is worth noting that the EQF comprises eight levels of correspondence aiming to improve the readability of qualifications for employers, citizens and establishments, thus allowing workers to have their qualifications recognized abroad.
