Council believes in EPAs to aid development but calls for flexibility in order to draw negotiations to a close

Brussels, 28/05/2008 (Agence Europe) - EU development ministers are convinced of the advantages of the economic partnership agreements (EPAs) in order to aid development in line with World Trade Organisation (WTO) rules, but want the European Commission to be flexible in the final stage of the process of what they hope will be agreement on regional EPAs. This was their message to EU Trade Commissioner Peter Mandelson, who briefed them in Brussels on 27 May 2008 on the slight progress...
