Commission approves proposed purchase of World Duty Free by Autogrill

Brussels, 20/05/2008 (Agence Europe) - On Friday 16 May, the European Commission cleared the proposed acquisition of World Duty Free Limited (WDF), a UK-based airport shop operator, by the Italian-based travel service provider Autogrill S.p.A.. In its investigation, the Commission examined the overlaps in the airport shops sector, where Autogrill operates through its fully-owned subsidiaries Alpha Airport Group plc (UK) and Aldeasa S.A.
