EFFE says maximum autonomy must be given to schools and teachers to address rate of school drop-outs

Brussels, 20/05/2008 (Agence Europe) - According to official European Commission statistics, more than one in six young people dropped out of school in 2006 in the 27 member states of the European Union. The European Forum for Freedom in Education (EFFE), which organised a conference on this subject last week in Brussels, described the figure as “shocking”. The conference, “From early childhood curiosity to early school leaving” brought education experts together from 18 countries....
