06/02/2008 (Agence Europe) - On Monday 28 January, the European Commission presented the Council with a draft regulation to extend anti-dumping duty on Chinese bicycles and certain bicycle parts. At the end of 2006, the Commission re-examined the anti-circumvention measure applied on imports of essential bicycle parts from China. This investigation aims to determine whether there was any continuation of this circumvention or the probability of anti-dumping duty circumvention practices reappearing. The investigation deems that no circumvention had occurred but that there was a clear probability of these practices reappearing to a limited degree, if
anti-circumvention measures were abrogated. In light of this conclusion, the Commission has
decided to maintain the existing measure. Proposal text available at: (http: //eur-lex.europa.eu/LexUriServ/LexUriServ.do?uri=COM: 2008: 0036: FIN: FR: PDF). (O.L.)
