31/01/2008 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission decided on Wednesday 30 January to approve the subsidies given by Greece for the construction and renovation of road infrastructures. The Commission does not consider that this constitutes state aid. Within the framework of three concession agreements, the Greek authorities will grant: €500 million to Odos Kentrikis Elladas S.A. (construction of the Maliakos-Kleidi section of the Patras-Athens-Thessaloniki-Evzoni motorway project), €300 million to the Moreas Group (construction and operation of the Korinthos-Tripoli-Kalamata and Lefktro-Sparti motorway branches) and €278 million to Aegean Motorway S.A. (construction of motorway sections linking Maliakos to Kleidi, Tembi to Skotina and Evangelismos to Leptokarya). (L.C.)
