Brussels, 29/01/2008 (Agence Europe) - In a judgement delivered on 29 January, the Court of Justice of the European Communities said it was up to member states themselves to determine the relative importance of the confidentiality of personal digital data, on the one hand, and effective copyright protection on the other. Spanish law may, then, decide to protect the anonymity of those suspected of having illegally down-loaded music (Case C-275/06).
