29/01/2008 (Agence Europe) - The European Local Inclusion and Social Action Network (ELISAN) was officially launched in Brussels on Monday 28 January. The event was attended by French Secretary of State for European Affairs Jean-Pierre Jouyet, President of the Committee of the Regions Michel Delebarre and President of the Union nationale des centres communs d'action sociale (UNCCAS) Patrick Kanner. The aim of ELISAN is to ensure better account is taken of locally elected representatives' participation in the implementation of the social criteria of the Lisbon Strategy.
