29/01/2008 (Agence Europe) - Swiss diplomats and EU officials held a meeting on Wednesday 23 January to discuss the tax dispute between Switzerland and the EU during which both sides have withdrawn their negotiating positions (see Europe 9584). The EU believes that Swiss cantonal tax law violates the 1972 free exchange agreement between the EU and Switzerland. The two sides will meet again in April for further discussions.
