Commission to set benchmarks prior to opening of accession negotiations

Brussels, 24/01/2008 (Agence Europe) - In the coming weeks, the European Commission will propose a series of benchmarks which the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (FYRM) will have to meet before it can hope for a date from the European Council for the opening negotiations for its accession to the EU.
