EU Globalisation Fund pays €14.8 million to help German and Finnish workers

Brussels, 20/12/2007 (Agence Europe) - On Thursday 20 December, the European Commission paid Germany and Finland financial support from the European Globalisation Fund (EGF, previously GAF for Globalisation Adjustment Fund). The payment of €12.8 million to Germany will help some 3,300 workers made redundant at three production sites of BenQ, a mobile phone manufacturer, to get back into work as quickly as possible.
