20/12/2007 (Agence Europe) - The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) has published its annual report on zoonoses (infectious diseases that can be transmitted from other animals), which affect 350,000 people in the EU every year. EFSA notes a continuing decline in the number of cases of salmonella. However, cases of listeria continue to rise and resistance to campylobacter is causing concern.
