14/12/2007 (Agence Europe) - The president of the European Commission, Jose Manuel Barroso, and the president of the Committee of the Regions, Michel Delebarre, will be attending a power lunch in Brussels on Monday 17 December with high-ranking regional politicians from across the EU. The meeting is part of the structured dialogue with regional associations on the European Commission's 2008 work programme, following a meeting last month with Commission Vice-President Margot Wallstrom (see EUROPE 9556). Monday's meeting will discuss 1) the Lisbon Treaty and its impact on regional and local authorities and on the ratification campaign; 2) the future of cohesion policy and the 2009 review of the EU budget; and 3) territorial cohesion and its impact on sector-specific policies.
