Euromed Conference on migration decides on concrete measures to fight illegal immigration, to create framework for legal flows and development efforts in origin and transit countries

Albufeira, 22/11/2007 (Agence Europe) - A Euro-Mediterranean ministerial meeting on migration was held in Albufeira (Algarve, Portugal) on 18 and 19 November. Chaired by Portuguese Interior Minister Rui Pereira, the meeting dealt with migration issues in the Euro-Mediterranean context, from two points of view: migration and development (granting funds and micro-loans); legal immigration (opportunities) and illegal immigration.
