Brussels, 12/10/2007 (Agence Europe) - On Tuesday 9 October, the Council of Europe launched a website to help its 47 member states incorporate human rights issues in the training of their judges and prosecutors, as part of a European Programme in Human Rights Training for Legal Professionals (the 'HELP' Programme). HELP intends to ensure that by 2009 the standards of the European Convention on Human Rights, as interpreted in the case law of the European Court of Human Rights, are fully integrated into curricula for professional training of judges and prosecutors in all Council of Europe member states, and become part of their basic knowledge. The http: //coe.int/help website contains standard curricula on the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR), a training manual on methodology and a selection of training materials (slide shows, case studies, moot courts, etc) for use by trainers in the Council of Europe's member states.
