Industrial new orders

Brussels, 29/08/2007 (Agence Europe) - Excluding ships, railway and aerospace equipment, industrial new orders increased by 1.4% in the Euro area and by 1.2% in the EU27 in June 2007. In June 2007 compared with June 2006, industrial new orders increased by 13.8% in the Euro area and by 14.0% in the EU27. Total industry excluding ships, railway and aerospace equipment grew by 7.0% in the Euro area and by 7.6% in the EU27.

In monthly terms total manufacturing working on orders rose in eleven Member States and fell in eight. The highest increases were recorded in Latvia (+6.0%), Ireland (+5.8%) and Germany (+5.5%), and the largest decreases in Bulgaria (-12.8%), Portugal (-7.6%) and Hungary (-6.8%). In annual terms total manufacturing working on orders rose in fourteen Member States and fell in five. The highest increases were registered in Poland (+56.4%), Latvia (+29.7%) and Lithuania (+27.6%), and the largest decreases in Greece (-8.2%), Portugal (-3.6%) and the Netherlands (-2.2%). (ab)
