Brussels, 29/08/2007 (Agence Europe) - In June 2007, industrial production fell by 0.1% in the Euro zone compared to figures for May 2007 when it grew by 1%. In the EU27, production remained unchanged after a 0.7% rise in May. Compared to June 2006, industrial production increased by 2.3% in the Euro zone and by 2.5% in the EU27. In annual terms, industrial production increased in eighteen of the member states and fell in three. Highest rises were seen in Bulgaria (+14.6%), Slovakia (+12.0%), Slovenia (+10.0%) and Poland (+7.8%), while falls were observed in Denmark (-2.1%), France (-1.3%) and Italy (-0.1%). Compared to June 2006, production of investment goods increased by 4.2% in the Euro zone and by 4.9% in the EU7. Intermediate goods increased by 2.7% and 2.9% respectively and consumer durables by 1.8% and 3.0%. Non-consumer durables grew by 1.8% and 1.5% respectively, whereas the energy sector fell by 0.9% in the Euro zone and by 1.0% in the EU27. (ab)
