Commission and Parliament confirm timetable for future Treaty and identify points in need of clarification

Brussels, 29/08/2007 (Agence Europe) - The three representatives of the EP to the Intergovernmental Conference tasked with drafting the future Treaty the EU have assured José Manuel Barroso of their support to agree on a new text at the informal European Council of 18 and 19 October, as the Portuguese Presidency hopes to do (EUROPE 9474). “The Commission and the Parliament are committed to a successful meeting at the summit of Heads of State and Government on 18 and 19 October”, stated...
