Brussels, 27/07/2007 (Agence Europe) - On Thursday 26 July, the European Commission granted clearance to three acquisitions. Certain assets and contracts currently belonging to ERG Nuove Centrali S.p.A., an affiliate of ERG (Italy) will be bought up by ERG Power & Gas S.p.A. (Italy) and IPM Eagle LLP (UK). The companies carrying out the buyout are active in electricity generation and the sale of electricity. The acquisition was carried out with the aim of providing maintenance services to industrial plants. In the second case clearance was granted to the acquisition of sole control of Icopal A/S (Icopal) of Denmark by Investcorp Investment Holding Ltd (Investcorp) of the UK. Investcorp is a private equity fund. Icopal manufactures roofing materials and products for the building industry. The European Commission has also granted clearance to the acquisition of sole control of temporary job agency Torrita Vermögensverwaltung GmbH of Germany by Adecco SA of Switzerland, controlled by Jacobs Holding AG of Switzerland. Adecco provides human resource and staffing services on a global scale. All operations were examined under the simplified merger review procedure. (cd)
