Delays in submitting national energy efficiency action plans

Brussels, 06/07/2007 (Agence Europe) - On Friday, only Denmark, the United Kingdom and Finland had submitted their binding national energy efficiency action plans to the European Commission. In theory, the 27 EU member states had until 30 June 2007 to hand in their programmes on how to achieve the indicative target of 9% energy savings by 2016 (a target set in Directive 2006/32/EC on energy efficiency for end users and energy services).
