Recommendations for more effective, more transparent and more predictable greenhouse gas emissions trading scheme

Brussels, 02/07/2007 (Agence Europe) - In the opinion of the EU Environment Ministers, the Community greenhouse gas emissions trading scheme (EU ETS), which has been in force since 2005, “is and will remain one of the most important instruments for the EU's contribution towards achieving a significant emissions reduction” and thus allow the EU to meet its strategic objective of limiting the global average temperature increase to not more than 2º Celsius above pre-industrial levels....
