Brussels, 01/06/2007 (Agence Europe) - On Thursday evening, following the meeting between Javier Solana and Ali Larijani, the EU spoke of “some progress” in talks on Iran's nuclear programme and announced that there would be greater contact with Iranian negotiators in the coming few weeks. “The meeting was positive. … There was progress on a number of issues. Iran is ready to talk to the IAEA (International Atomic Energy Agency) about matters on hold, relating to access to information and cooperation with the Agency,” said Mr Solana's spokesman, quoted by AFP. “The most important thing is that we are going to continue working at a more intense rhythm than we have had in the past few months,” Mr Solana himself said. He is due to meet Mr Larijani once more in two weeks' time. (hb)
