25/05/2007 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has adopted a decision authorising Italy to apply a reduced value added tax (VAT) rate of 10% on electricity supplied to irrigation, water pumping and water drainage installations. In Italy, public law consortia are responsible for such installations. This authorisation is possible under the terms of directive 2006/112/EC on the common VAT system. (mb)
