15/05/2007 (Agence Europe) - On 14 May, the Taxpayers' Association of Europe awarded its 2007 prize to Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development Mariann Fischer Boel. The federation of 26 taxpayers' associations from throughout Europe (over one million members) thanks Ms Fischer Boel for her decision to abolish export refunds for exports of live cattle from the EU, and for her ongoing efforts to improve the transparency of agricultural payments;
