26/03/2007 (Agence Europe) - Just a few days after being sworn in by the Ukrainian parliament, the new foreign affairs minister, Arseny Yatsenyuk, was in Brussels on Monday for his first meeting with Benita Ferrero-Waldner. Welcoming this visit by a man who, at the age of 32, has already been his country's finance minister, the commissioner for external relations reiterated the need for “political stability” and reforms in Ukraine. After their meeting, Mr Yatsenyuk said that he was committed to respect all of his country's obligations. “We must not focus on the name of the agreement, but on its content”, he stated pragmatically, with reference to the partnership agreement between the EU and Ukraine, negotiations for which were launched on 5 March (EUROPE 9382).
