13/03/2007 (Agence Europe) - The EU is moving towards a compromise on the implementation of voluntary modulation of agricultural aid (re-channelling aid towards rural development) in the interested countries only, the United Kingdom and Portugal (see EUROPE 9380). This arrangement, which amends the European Council decision of December 2005, will be put by the Presidency to MEPs on 14 March.
