Crucial week for negotiating economic partnership agreements - ACP ministerial Council followed by joint ACP/EU ministerial committee

Brussels, 26/02/2007 (Agence Europe) - This week will prove crucial to the results of the future economic partnership agreements between the EU and six sub-regions of the ACP (Africa, Caribbean and Pacific), which have just been opened. These Cotonou negotiated agreements have proved laborious and are supposed to enter into force on 1 January 2008. They will be subject to a critical evaluation on 27-28 February by ACP ministers responsible for these negotiations, and then assessed by the...
