02/02/2007 (Agence Europe) - The European Central Bank (ECB) and the Banque de France (BdF) jointly held a seminar in Paris on 1 February, for the governors and representatives of the Central Banks of the Eurosystem and those of central and western Africa. Regional economic cooperation, the impact of price changes for raw materials on monetary and budgetary policies, and issues of governance were raised on Thursday. On the part of the Africans, the Bank of Central African States (BCAS), the Central Bank of West African States (BCEAO), and the Central Banks of Cape Verde, Gambia, Liberia, Mauritania, the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Guinea, Sao Tomé and Principe and Sierra Léone, took part in the meeting.
