02/02/2007 (Agence Europe) - Contrary to our article yesterday, it was Lithuania, and not Latvia, which came out joint top - with Denmark - in the European category of member states with the least delay in terms of deficit in transposing European legislation into internal legislation (see EUROPE 9357). Lithuania and Denmark both have a deficit of 0.3%, which corresponds to five directives not transposed within the given deadline. Latvia comes third with a deficit of 0.5%. (mb)
