11/12/2006 (Agence Europe) - During its meeting on Monday 11 December, the Council of the European Union noted that positive developments had taken place in the situation in Bosnia-Herzegovina and confirmed the principle of a transition process in the context of Operation Althea, which will take the form of a gradual reduction in forces deployed in Bosnia (see AN 3831). The conclusions specify that implementation of the operation should be pursued in line with the approved transition concept, subject to a definitive decision (revised OPLAN) by the Political and Security Committee by end February 2007, bearing in mind the security situation in the country as well as the impact that the regional situation has on security.
