27/11/2006 (Agence Europe) - The Konrad Adenauer Foundation is holding a conference in Brussels on 30 November on “The Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) after the 2006 presidential and parliamentary elections: national prospects and external assistance”. Among the speakers will be Dr Peter R. Weilemann, Frank Spengler and Wilhelm Staudacher of the Foundation, Domenico Rosa, member of the cabinet of European Commissioner Louis Michel, Elisabeth Tison, head of unit for Central Africa and the Great Lakes at the European Commission, Alexandre de Bordelius of the EU military staff, Colonel Barry Barnwell of the EUSEC mission in the DRC, Joseph Mbenza Thubi, President of the provisional Bureau of the Congolese National Assembly, Prof. Ferdinand Mushi Mugumo of the Catholic Faculties in Kinshasa, Daniel Stroux of the UNDP (a programme to support transition institutions in the DRC) and MEP Jürgen Schröder.
