Parliament/Council agree on INSPIRE initiative

Brussels, 27/11/2006 (Agence Europe) - Within the next two years, better map-based information to support the EU's environment, transport, energy and agriculture policies will be in place. This was agreed on 21 November between the European Parliament (EP) and the Council in the context of conciliation procedure based on the INSPIRE initiative. Stavros Dimas, speaking on behalf of the European Commission, immediately hailed the event.
