27/11/2006 (Agence Europe) - On 24 November, the European Commission approved the acquisition of joint control of Stratfield Limited (United Kingdom) by Group Inc (AIG) and Global Infrastructure Partners-A.L.P. (GIP) both of the United States. AIG is active in the insurance sector, GIP in investments in infrastructure and Stratfield is a holding company for the entities that own and operate London City Airport (LCA). The operation was examined under the simplified merger review procedure. (cd)
