20/11/2006 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has launched an online public consultation exercise, to run until 12 January 2007 on the possible reform of European legislation on value added tax (VAT) on exchange vouchers (reimbursement in cash, discounts, gift tokens). A consultation document sets out the main tax problems uncovered in the VAT system as applied to vouchers. It also contains possible options to the future development of European legislation.
