20/11/2006 (Agence Europe) - The fourth edition of the “Prix de l'Ancien”, organised by the “Association des Anciens du Collège d'Europe” will be awarded on 7 December this year at the European Parliament in Brussels. The prize is to go to one of the former members of the College d'Europe, who made a significant contribution in his professional career or personal life to promoting the values of the College d'Europe and European construction. Finalists are: - Agustin Escardino Malva of Spain, a pioneer in European research into hydrogen and fuel cell technology; - Béatrice Rey of France, a founder of the Cirq'oui association, which takes charge of children who are victims of war; - and a “collective” prizewinner composed of Bernadette Costers and François Vandamme of Belgium, and Manuel Marin Gonzalez of Spain, who have all made a significant contribution to the setting up of the European student exchange programme, Erasmus.
