Vietnam becomes 150th member of WTO

Brussels, 08/11/2006 (Agence Europe) - On Tuesday, the World Trade Organisation (WTO) General Council approved Vietnam's accession to the WTO. Thirty days after ratification of WTO accession by the Vietnamese parliament (expected before the end of the month), Vietnam will become the 150th WTO member state. Vietnam joining the world trade system follows 12 years of intense negotiations and a slow process of economic reform started back in 1986 with the 'doi moi' policy (renewal). EU Trade...
