Parliament calls for those guilty of assassination of around 200,000 Mayas to be brought to justice

Strasbourg, 30/10/2006 (Agence Europe) - By adopting a resolution on Thursday 26 October on the trial of Rios Montt, the European Parliament is calling on the Guatemalan authorities to fully cooperate and do all in its power to bring to light human rights violations perpetrated in the conflict of the 1990s, which left around 200,000 Maya as victims. It is calling for those responsible to be brought to justice and cites: José Efrain Rios Montt, Oscar Humberto Mejia Victores, Angel Anibal...
