13/10/2006 (Agence Europe) - The Luxembourg Prime Minister and Eurogroup President, Jean-Claude Juncker, has been elected associate foreign member of the Academy for Moral and Political Sciences to take over the seat left vacant by the former President of Senegal, Léopold Sédar Senghor, who died in December 2001, and who was himself successor to the former German Chancellor, Konrad Adenauer, who held the same chair. The Academy has twelve foreign members including Cardinal Ratzinger, President Vaclav Havel, King Juan Carlos and the Albanian writer, Ismail Kadaré. The reception ceremony will be held in February or March 2007 under the cupola of the Institut de France. (oj)
