Measures to combat classical swine fever in Bulgaria and Romania

Brussels, 04/10/2006 (Agence Europe) - On 3 October, the Standing Committee on the Food Chain and Animal Welfare backed a proposal to approve Romania's plan for eradicating the classical swine fever and vaccinating pigs against this disease. Bulgaria's programme was approved by the experts of the EU Member States in mid-September. The EU will co-finance these swine fever eradication measures.
