29/08/2006 (Agence Europe) - The Commission has granted clearance to the Dutch company Philips' proposed acquisition of the British company, Avent, which provides a wide range of baby-care products. The deal, which will give rise to overlapping on the market for bottle warmers in the Netherlands, Spain and the United Kingdom, is not of a kind that will hamper competition, the Commission concludes, considering that neither firm would be able to put prices up after the transaction as competition on the market would remain significant.
