MEPs calls for Lebanese sovereignty to be restored and for region to be stabilised

Brussels, 29/08/2006 (Agence Europe) - During the extraordinary meeting of the European Parliament's Committee on Foreign Affairs, MEPs urged, on 29 August, for a comprehensive settlement in the Middle East. The restoration of sustainable and full sovereignty for Lebanon on its own territory is essential but Lebanon must also contribute to regional stability, MEPs stressed. What can be expected of regional players such as Syria and Iran when it comes to constructive and positive involvement?...
