13/06/2006 (Agence Europe) - The Committee of the Regions (CoR) will meet in plenary session in Brussels on 14-15 June, under the chairmanship of Michel Delebarre. Among the issues for debate are the impact of the EU's communications policy in the regions and cities, industrial policy, policy towards SME, maritime safety, recycling of waste, clean transport, protection of minorities, lifelong learning, multilingualism and digital libraries. Commissioners Margot Wallström and Danuta Hübner and Finnish Minister of Regional and Municipal Affairs Hannes Manninen will be among the speakers. On the sidelines of the session, the CoR and DG Communication at the European Commission are holding a forum for editors of local and regional authority titles.
