01/06/2006 (Agence Europe) - The Luxembourg investment fund, CVC, has received authorisation to acquire the Dutch company Bocchi and the Belgian company De Weide Blik, active in the importation, production and wholesale of fruit and vegetables. As the transaction only gives rise to very small overlapping of activity between the parties concerned and moderate growth of market shares held by the new entity, the Commission considers this does not pose competition problems. Also, while the limited activities of CVC in the retail sector and out-of-home eating as well as the production of ready-made food by De Weide Blik are vertically linked to the wholesale of fruit and vegetables, the Commission has concluded that this does not give rise to any market difficulties for the European Economic Area (EEA).
