30/05/2006 (Agence Europe) - Following the “surprise” inspections in mid-May on the gas markets in five Member States (France, Germany, Belgium, Austria and Italy) and electricity in Hungary (EUROPE 9194), the Commission indicated on Tuesday that it had carried out “surprise” inspections in the premises of energy companies in Germany, which it suspects of having breached competition rules by way of restrictive practices and/or abuse of dominant position (Articles 81 and 82).
