24/05/2006 (Agence Europe) - At the end of April, the European Commission decided to create standardised pro-formas allowing victims of serious crime in a Member State other than his/her usual State of residence to be compensated. These standardised pro-formas should heave been ready for 1St January 2006, the date on which the 2004 directive creating a system for compensating victims of serious crime came into effect (see EUROPE 8982 and the Official Journal L 125 of 12 May 2006).
