18/05/2006 (Agence Europe) - On 16 May, the European Parliament approved the draft regulation ending the fisheries agreement between the EU and Angola following the breakdown in talks to renew the agreement which expired in August 2004 (see EUROPE 9099 on the Commission's proposal). The Community must serve notice of the termination of this agreement by 31 October 2007. Measures have been put in place to ensure that vessels concerned can benefit from an aid scheme.
