Brussels, 18/05/2006 (Agence Europe) - As part of their dialogue on energy, the European Union and oil producing countries from OPEC will hold their third ministerial meeting on 7 June in Brussels, following meetings in June and December last year. The Nigerian Oil Resources Minister will be taking part in this meeting, together with the OPEC President. Edmund Maduabebe Daukoru and the next OPEC President, the Energy Minister for the Arab Emirates, Mohamed Bin Dhaen Al Hamli, the Commissioner for Energy, Andris Piebalgs, the Austrian Minister for Energy and President of the Council, Martin Bartenstein, and the Finnish Minister for Energy, Mauri Pekkarinen (future Presidency of the Council of the EU). Community sources said that the agenda was expected to include: new technologies for oil and gas production, new technologies for sequestration and storage of carbon, Union energy policy, the Commission's Green Paper, the International Energy Forum 2008 and the setting up of an EU/OPEC technology centre.
